The Republic's core group of research experts are:

 

Rohit Lekhi, partner, is a highly skilled researcher, with expertise in the analysis of public policy, business strategy and markets.  His clients include the Office of Fair Trading and the Cabinet Office.  Prior to founding Research Republic, Rohit was a Lecturer in Politics at the University of Warwick and a Research Fellow in Race Relations at the University of Manchester.

 

Daniel Leighton, associate, is an experienced political researcher with expertise in political communications, public policy, and stakeholder management. Previously, he was a political consultant at leading public affairs agency LLM Communications and the lead researcher for the Joseph Rowntree sponsored Power Inquiry. Daniel is now working at the Young Foundation where he  works in the Neighbourhoods and Local Innovation team. He is particularly interested in public service reform and civic renewal and is on the editorial advisory board of Renewal: the Journal of Labour Politics.

 

Dr. Ricardo Blaug, partner, is a leading researcher in democracy, participation and deliberation. He has extensive expertise in public sector management, organizational development and community-based research, and has worked with local authorities, social service departments and voluntary groups. An award winning author with over thirty published articles and books, he is also Senior Lecturer in Political Philosophy at the University of Leeds where he is director of knowledge transfer in public policy.

 

Judith Buck, associate, is an action researcher with extensive experience in public and voluntary sector management, consultation and service evaluation. Formerly Senior Staff Development Officer at Calderdale Social Services Department, she has particular skills in community based research, deliberative methods and capacity building, and is now lecturer in social work at Bradford College

 

Dr. Chunyao Yi, associate, is an expert in the political economy of Asia, regional development, international and comparative public policy and transnational institutions. She has recently completed her PhD at the University of Leeds.

 

Dr. Virinder Kalra, associate, is a social policy researcher with particular expertise in issues facing minority ethnic communities in Britain and Europe. He has extensive experience in Race Equality Auditing, the development of corporate diversity strategies and the implications of recent legislation in race relations.  Widely published, he advises policymakers in the public, private and voluntary sectors on race and diversity issues. His recent work includes projects for Oldham Borough Council and the Electoral Commission.

Dr. Amy Kenyon, researcher, is a cultural analyst specialising in social cohesion, race and urban development. Trained at Amherst in the USA, Aix-en-Provence in France and Leeds in the UK, she was a lecturer in Communication and Media at the University of Leeds. A published author, she has wide experience in public and voluntary sector management. 

 

Dr. Andrew Whitworth, associate, is a specialist researcher in the politics of education, new social movements and environmental issues. The author of many published articles, he also edits Tangentium, an on-line journal in IT and politics. He is currently a lecturer in education at the University of Manchester.
